Right after breakfast in the hotel you will start your trip to Fokino town, and your first spot will be the local ostrich farm which is the only one on the Russian Far East. These ostriches were brought here from Italy and there was just one family at that time, but now 16 ostriches inhabit the farm. You will have the opportunity to take photos, pat the ostriches and feed them. It is even advisable to have fresh cabbage with you. Let’s know whether it’s true that ostriches hide their heads in sand and how fast they are!
The second spot will be the Zhar-Ptitsa workshop. This is a really unique place because only here there are several workshops and exhibitions devoted to different handicrafts.
You can choose one excursion and:
• Know the history of ceramics and try yourself in working at the real pottery;
• See the process of glass jewelry creation;
• Observe metal processing in the local smithy;
• Learn how to decorate gingerbread;
• Observe the big collection of samovars and drink tea made in one of them;
• Observe and listen to the history of different handicraft instruments.
On the way back you will have a lot of time to take pictures in local villages and picturesque spots. This is not only the chance to see traditional Russian villages and rural life but also take pictures of beautiful nature and remember Russia every time you will look at them.
How about trying local seafood after arriving in Vladivostok? It’s not a secret that Primorsky region and Vladivostok in particular are well-known for such marine products like Kamchatka crabs, squids, oysters and many others. Our local cooks know very well hot to cook them in a really special way. Just come and try!
