One of the most interesting underground places is Vladivostok-2. This bomb shelter, evacuation system, and simultaneous back-up control center for Primorye was set up in the early 1940s in the city's center (near the Gorky Theater). The underground passages connected shelter-seekers from the regional committee for the All Union Communist Party, NKVD leaders, and the Zolotoy Rog docks. The tunnel of about 1.5 km, the total building area of more than 2000 square meters. m, the depth of the up to about 72 m was assumed that the regional committee members could at any time go down the spiral staircase and take place in the offices of the replacement, hand-dug by a separate 66-second track construction battalion of the Special Railway NKPS body .
