Walking down Aleutskaya street you will know some interesting facts about the place that stood at the origins of shipping industry in Primorsky region, observe historically important constructions and relax a little bit in the cozy mini-park. One of local buildings is named the Grey Horse, and you will know why.
The place you will get later is called Millionka and is well-known among residents of Vladivostok, but even they don’t know all its secrets. It is a real labyrinth of old and a little bit spooky constructions that used to be home for the Chinese diaspora. It is believed that this place keeps the spirit of old Vladivostok even today. Not far from here there is also the mini-park of twin towns which names are written on numerous gates.
How about leisurely promenade along the Sports embankment? This is one of the most favorite resting places of citizens. This is understandable because here you can get yourself painted, visit the amusement park, enjoy the view of the sea, eat ice-cream etc. This place is always full of life, voices and smiles.
Later you will be transferred to the Central square - the calling card of the city. You will observe the monument which is the biggest one on the Russian Far East and feel the spirit of the place where all mass events are usually held. Right here there is a wonderful souvenir shop where you can purchase gifts for yourself and your friends.
Next, we invite you to the restaurant that was opened quite recently. Here you can try prerevolutionary Russian cuisine and enjoy the interior designed as a flat of a Russian granny Masha. It is interesting that this lady was real and lived in one of the flats of this house and she is also a grandmother of one of creators of this place. This is your chance not only to try authentic food but also know history of this unusual place.
After lunch you will visit GUM (the department store) which is at the same time the monument of architecture and the important outlet of the city. Along with that you will take a walk to the so-called “Old yard of GUM” – a complex of old constructions with unusual cafes, workshops etc. Here you will also observe some cozy shops with handmade jewelry produced by local designers.
Let’s continue observing remarkable spots that you haven’t seen before. The next one to see will be the Central Post Office and the monument to the American Eleanor Pray who is called the first blogger of Vladivostok thanks to her numerous photos and records about the city.
The next spot is considered very unusual. This is a monument of Vladimir Vysotsky (the Russian poet, singer and actor) which is the only one of its kind in the country. Russian people love his creativity a lot and claim his monument lifelike. Very close to it there is the musical equipment thanks to which his songs can be heard here all the time.
Having walked a little you will get to the Gallery of 3D pictures. This place is popular among both adults and kids because only here you can take photos with dinosaurs, find yourself in jungles or shake hands with Vladimir Putin!
Later we invite you to the Russky island to observe some remarkable spots which are unusual for the city. In the park of the Far-Eastern Federal University you will find 150 juvenile sakura trees planted here in 2014 as a symbol of friendship between Russia and Japan. Here you can also walk in the garden of stones created together with government of the Japanese twin city Toyama.
You will finish the tour day with dinner in the traditional Japanese restaurant Ginza Izakaya. You will not forget authentic Japanese cuisine from the professional Japanese cook and cozy relaxing design. It’s a great chance to try traditional foreign meal cooked in Russia!
